How to vote in the 2026 board election

Option 1: Go to the meeting, pick up a ballot, and cast your vote

Option 2: Send a neighbor (proxy) to vote on your behalf

I’m not sure if I’m going to the meeting or not. Should I sign a proxy just in case?

Yes. Signing a proxy now gives you a backup if you can’t make it. If you decide to attend and vote yourself, tell your proxy and check-in officials you’re revoking it before a vote is cast. Simply arriving doesn’t automatically cancel it.

Who will my proxy vote for?

These neighbors volunteered to serve as proxies and vote for whoever the homeowner chooses. Use the note on your proxy form to tell them how you would like them to vote.

You can also contact your proxy after signing. You and your proxy will both receive the confirmation email; use “Reply all” to let them know.

These are honest neighbors who will cast a vote for whoever you want, even if it’s a candidate they don’t personally support. This is still a general proxy, not a binding instruction to vote for a particular candidate.

Will this proxy be accepted?

We used the proxy form provided by the HOA, and added a digital audit trail. Indiana law allows electronic signatures for proxies.

We will copy you in the email we send to Associa with your proxy, and you are also welcome to forward it to them yourself.

How do I fill out and return a paper proxy?

Fill in your proxy’s name. If you leave it blank, the form appoints Jacquie Farr. Include all owners’ printed names and signatures, your Tamarack address, lot number, and date.

The form asks for email receipt by October 27 at proxies@cas-indiana.com. It also says a neighbor may bring your proxy to the October 28 meeting. Keep a copy and confirm receipt and attendance with your proxy.

Option 3: Vote absentee

Not recommended. Send a proxy instead.

The Board shared an absentee ballot and said to send it in via email. We do not recommend this option because there is no accountability for the vote count. Our bylaws also require paper ballots for elections.

If you can’t make it to the meeting, designate a proxy you trust so they can pick up a paper ballot at the meeting and vote on your behalf.

If you click the “Choose a proxy” button above, you can choose from a list of people who have volunteered to deliver a vote for Stephen on your behalf.

Why should I fill out a proxy instead of an absentee ballot?

We strongly recommend attending or using a trusted proxy rather than relying on an emailed absentee ballot. Our By-Laws say Board elections “will be by paper ballot.” A proxy can cast that paper ballot and follow up at the meeting.

That wording alone doesn’t establish that every emailed ballot is invalid. Already submitted one? Ask Bonnie Brown how it will be handled before arranging another vote; your property should not vote twice.
